NHA awards contract for Sialkot-Kharian M-12 project

ISLAMABAD: In a meeting chaired by National Highway Authority (NHA) Chairman, Khurram Agha, NHA awarded the contract for the construction of the Sialkot-Kharian M-12 project.

According to the details, the 69km project will be constructed at the cost of Rs27.32bn in partnership with Frontier Work Organisation (FWO) and two other entities.

The motorway will pass through various areas including Jalapur Jattan, Peru Shah, Gujrat, and Daulat Nagar. Furthermore, a link road of 9km will also be constructed alongside the M-12 project.

Furthermore, the FWO will also get a subsidy of Rs1bn every year for 8 years under Viability Gap Funding (VGF).

Imarat Group inks MOU with Principal Builders to construct Imarat’s upcoming project; Courtyard by Marriott International in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Imarat Group of Companies and business tycoon Principal Builders inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) gearing up a partnership in the construction of Imarat’s project; Courtyard by Marriott International. 

The Chairman Imarat Group, CEO Graana.com, Mr. Shafiq Akbar, and Principal Builders, Mr. Mohammad Najeeb Haroon, were the document’s signatories, signed at Imarat Headquarters Blue Area Islamabad.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by the esteemed higher management, including Group Directors Mr. Farhan Javed, Arslan Javed and Mr. Taimoor Ul Haq Abbasi, while one of the directors of Principal Builders, Mr. Mohammad Omar Haroon, also attended the ceremony.

Both the parties were enthusiastic about the project, leading to employment generation and transforming the landscape of the hospitality and tourism sector of the twin cities and adjoining areas.

Speaking at the occasion, CEO Graana.com Mr. Akbar said, “We are pleased to collaborate with Principal Builders to construct Courtyard by Marriott in G – 11, Islamabad. Korea grants $76.28mn loan to establish IT Park project in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Republic of Korea has granted a loan of $76.28 million under the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) to set up an Information Technology Park project in the federal capital, announced the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication.

The terms and conditions of the contract will be subjugated as per the conditions of the loan agreement, the ministry further added.

In addition, eligible bidders have been invited to submit their bids to construct 10 stories above ground and two basements IT Park project with a gross floor area of 66,893.643 m2, comprising offices, conference rooms, and data centres, amenities, backup power, and parking area.

The project is scheduled to be completed within 30 months.

Koto hydropower project enters its final phase

LOWER DIR: Assistant Project Director of Koto hydropower project while briefing district administration informed that the hydropower project has entered its final phase and 90pc work has been completed.

As per the details, the development work on the project will be completed at the end of the ongoing year.

Speaking on the occasion, the assistant director of the project informed that hydropower has the capacity of generating 40.8MW energy.

On the occasion, the district administration assured its full support for the timely completion of the project.

Naukundi-Mashkhel road project to improve connectivity in Balochistan: PM

ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan, on Thursday performed the groundbreaking of  Naukundi-Mashkhel road spreading over 103 kilometres in a bid to improve connectivity in Balochistan. 

“We can massively benefit from the natural resources by connecting Balochistan with other parts of the country,” stated Prime Minister Khan while addressing the virtual inauguration of the project in Islamabad. 

He further stated that the project is crucial for the development of Balochistan and the country. It will enhance connectivity and result in economic growth. 

The project is to be completed within the five years tenure of the present government. 

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Communication Murad Saeed said the project was a stepping stone in the development of the region. The projects in developing areas were launched to bring them at par with the developed areas of the country and end economic disparity. 

Great emphasis was placed on law and order and rule of law during the groundbreaking ceremony.

Punjab govt. starts fresh alignment of Rawalpindi Ring Road project

RAWALPINDI: On the directives of Chief Minister Punjab, the authorities have started fresh alignment of the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project, informed Commissioner Rawalpindi Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah while briefing the Punjab Chief Secretary.

The meeting held via video link was attended by Director Development Nazia Sadhan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Captain (R) Qasim Ijaz, Azizullah, RDA deputy director and a large number of other relevant government officials

The CS directed the authorities to submit PC-1 alternate proposals along with cost estimates within the same budget, at their earliest.

The RRR project is aimed not only at averting the traffic congestion in the garrison city, but also generating economic activity.

Development work on first CPEC hydropower project near completion: Asim Bajwa | Graana.com Blog

ISLAMABAD: Asim Bajwa, Chairman China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority has informed that 88pc of development work on the Karot Hydropower Project has been finished till now.

Taking on to Twitter, the chairman CPEC authority informed that the development work on the 720MW hydropower project will be completed by April 2022.

The chairman also stated that the project is being developed at an investment of $1780mn; moreover, the project has employed 5000 locals for the construction.

Further, the project is being developed on River Jhelum under Build-Own-Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis and has the capacity to generate 3.249 billion units of clean energy annually.
