RAWALPINDI: Campaigning against illegal housing societies, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has introduced several initiatives to spread awareness among the general public.

Commenting on the matter, RDA Chairman Raja Tariq Mehmood informed that in order to avert scams, the authority had uploaded names of the illegal schemes on the official website.

To accommodate the residents, the authority has also set up a window, allowing people to walk in and check the status of any housing scheme before investing.

In addition, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has been directed to impose fines or block websites marketing and promote illegal housing societies.

Chairman RDA also informed that orders had been given to ensure timely issuance of NOCs, allowing sky-high buildings and vertical growth in the city.

LDA takes action against illegal buildings

LAHORE: In the wake of the drive against illegal buildings and construction, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Thursday demolished 28 illegal structures in various vicinities of Lahore.

According to the details, the authority demolished illegal buildings on the directives of LDA chairman, Ahmed Aziz Tarar.

The grand operation took place in 26 illegal housing schemes situated on Canal Road, GT Road, and Wagah Town.

On the occasion, the civic authority also sealed the offices of illegal housing schemes and razed encroaching green belts, sewerage systems, and infrastructure under construction.

The operation took place in the presence of a contingent of police and LDA’s enforcement squad.

CDA ramp up campaign against illegal housing societies

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Amer Ahmed Ali has informed that the civic authority has launched various campaigns against the illegal housing schemes in the city.

As per the media reports, the chairman was of the view that all the names of illegal housing societies are available on the website of CDA therefore, people should inquire about a housing society before buying and selling.

The chairman also informed that a mechanism is being devised for increasing the amount of fines for the housing societies violating the law.

He further added that the department will be restructured and new reforms will be brought to improve the working of the department.

LAHORE: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Tuesday took action against 12 illegal housing societies and demolished illegal structures.

According to the details, LDA took action against illegal housing societies on Ferozepur Road, and Shahzada Road.

As per the media reports, the development authority demolished the sewerage systems, under construction roads, green belts, and other infrastructure.

Furthermore, the authority also sealed the various offices of the illegal housing societies.
