Quick Answer
Interior finishing is the stage after the grey structure: flooring, wall finishes and paint, false ceilings, doors and woodwork, kitchens, bathrooms, lighting and fixtures. ACCO (Ahmed Construction Company), Lahore, finishes houses, offices, retail spaces and healthcare buildings, either as a finishing-only project on an existing structure after a site assessment, or as part of a complete construction contract. Every item is priced from a written specification schedule you approve.

What Interior Finishing Includes
Interior finishing is the stage that turns a completed structure into usable rooms: the surfaces you walk on and touch, the ceilings and lighting, the woodwork, and the fixtures in kitchens and bathrooms. ACCO plans these items together so that services, levels and finishes fit each other. The final scope is always the one written in your agreement and approved specification.
| Finishing work | What it covers | How it is usually priced |
|---|---|---|
| Flooring and tiling | Screed and levels, porcelain/ceramic tiles, marble, wooden or vinyl flooring, skirting | Standard finishing scope |
| Walls and paint | Surface preparation, putty, primer, paint, textures and feature walls | Standard finishing scope |
| False ceilings | Gypsum or board ceilings, bulkheads, cornices and light coves | Standard scope or itemised by design |
| Doors and woodwork | Internal doors, frames, hardware and wall panelling | Standard scope or itemised by design |
| Kitchen cabinets and wardrobes | Cabinetry, counters, wardrobes and storage joinery | Usually quoted separately to the design |
| Bathrooms | Wall and floor tiles, vanities, sanitary fittings, mirrors and accessories | Standard scope; fittings to the agreed schedule |
| Electrical fittings and lighting | Switches, sockets, light fixtures and final connections | Within the contracted electrical scope |
| Plumbing fittings | Taps, mixers, water heaters connection and final plumbing fixes | Within the contracted plumbing scope |
| Coordination and inspection | Sequencing of trades, checks at each stage and snag list before handover | Part of every ACCO finishing contract |
Residential Finishing Services
Each room has its own priorities. The cards below summarise them; the linked pages cover design for each room in detail.

Living Rooms and Lounges
Flooring, wall finishes, feature lighting and ceilings planned around furniture layout.

Kitchens and Dining
Cabinets, counters, backsplash, ventilation and task lighting fitted to plumbing and electrical points.

Bathrooms
Waterproofing checks, wall and floor tiles, vanities and sanitary fittings to the schedule.
Commercial and Institutional Finishing
ACCO also finishes offices, retail spaces and healthcare buildings. Commercial finishing adds requirements such as durable flooring for heavy footfall, ceiling grids that give access to services, and work phased around business hours.
Healthcare finishing is different from ordinary interior finishing: operating theatres, ICUs and similar areas need specialist planning of medical gases, HVAC, infection control and fire safety. ACCO coordinates these with its hospital construction team; finishes alone do not make a space compliant with healthcare requirements.
Finishing-Only vs Complete Construction
| Finishing-only project | Complete construction project | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting point | An existing structure, built by ACCO or another contractor | An empty plot or approved design |
| First step | Site assessment of the structure, levels, damp and services | Design, drawings and BOQ |
| Scope | Finishing items agreed after the assessment | Grey structure plus finishing under one contract |
| Best for | Owners with a completed shell or a house to refresh | Owners who want one team from start to handover — see turnkey home builders |
Not every existing structure is ready for finishing. Cracks, damp, uneven slabs, incomplete or non-standard electrical and plumbing work, and difficult site access can all add remedial work. The assessment identifies these first, so they are priced and agreed before finishing starts. For older properties see renovation and remodeling.
Material Specifications and Cost Control
Finishing budgets are decided by specification. ACCO records each item in a written specification schedule that you approve before purchase. An example of the format:
| Item | Category / brand | Grade or size | Finish or colour | Unit | Est. quantity | Installation note | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lounge floor | Porcelain tile, brand named | Size and grade named | Matt, light grey | sq ft | From drawings | Levelled screed, 2 mm joints | Awaiting approval |
| Bedroom walls | Emulsion paint, brand named | Product range named | Colour code | sq ft | From drawings | Putty and primer first | Approved |
| Master bath | Sanitary set, brand named | Model numbers | Chrome | set | 1 | After wall tiling | Client supplied |
This is an example layout, not a price list. The final price depends on the materials chosen, quantities, workmanship level, site conditions and design complexity. Items you supply yourself and items excluded from the contract are listed separately in the same schedule.
Our Finishing Process
Consultation
Your property, current stage, preferred finishes and budget.
Site Assessment
Structure, levels, damp, services and access checked; scope confirmed.
Design and Selection
Layouts, materials and fixtures chosen; specification schedule drafted.
Estimate and Contract
Itemised estimate, inclusions, exclusions and payment stages agreed in writing.
Sequenced Installation
Services first, then floors, ceilings, woodwork, paint and fittings.
Quality Checks
Each stage checked and defects recorded for correction.
Handover
Final joint inspection and handover to the agreed scope.
The order matters: concealed electrical and plumbing work and wall tiling come before flooring; ceilings and woodwork before final paint; light fittings, sanitary fittings and hardware last, so finished surfaces are not damaged.
Quality Checks Before Handover
- Specifications: materials on site checked against the approved schedule before use.
- Surface preparation: levels, plaster and substrate checked before tiles or paint.
- Tiling: alignment, joints, slopes to drains and hollow-tile checks.
- Paint: coverage, evenness and touch-ups under daylight.
- Woodwork: door and cabinet alignment, gaps and hardware operation.
- Services: switches, sockets, fittings and water points tested within the contracted scope.
- Snagging: a written snag list is closed before handover.
