FBR: Tax collection exceeds two-month by Rs160bn

ISLAMABAD: The tax collection of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has exceeded two months target by Rs160bn and collected Rs850bn.
According to the details, the FBR collected Rs458bn in indirect taxes which includes custom duty, general sales tax, and federal excise duty.
The tax collection authority against the target of Rs690bn collected Rs850bn in the July-August period of the current fiscal year.
Chairman FBR, Dr Mohammad Ashfaq while addressing the media informed that the collection in the July-August period was Rs247bn higher than the same period of last year.
The FBR needed to achieve the target of Rs5.829tr annual target.
