ADB approves $235mn for development of highways

ISLAMABAD: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved $235mn to revamp the national highway in Pakistan.
According to the details, the 222km Shikarpur-Rajanpur (N55) road will be converted into a four-lane carriageway that connects Karachi and Gwadar ports to national and international economic centers in the north.
As per the official of ADB, the project will help to expand the capacity of the N55 highway that is central to the connectivity of the Sindh and Punjab provinces.
Further, the project will also include the creation of bus stops, facilitation centers, and an efficient post-crash response system.
