KARACHI: The Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) on Tuesday appealed that the Rs 5,000 per tonne surge in steel bar prices will affect the construction industry of Pakistan.
As per a statement, ABAD chairman Fayyaz Ilyas highlighted the attention given to the construction industry in the current administration. Special packages have been introduced which will revive the national economy.
He further stated that the steel bar prices have been raised multiple times which have increased the overall cost of construction.
The current all-time high price of Rs 142,000 per tonne has been witnessed in steel bar prices. Chairman ABAD requested to remove duties so the Prime Minister’s 5,000 homes initiative can be materialised.
